As an extension of the show Calder: Discipline of the Dance, which was presented at the Museo Jumex in 2015, the catalogue of the same name offers not only a view of the wide range of production of the American artist, but also delves into his participation in the Mathias Goeritz Cultural Olympiad organized as part of the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City.
The volume includes reproductions of approximately one hundred works presented in the exhibition, and illustrated with numerous photographs and archival documents the International Meeting of Sculptors held in the framework of the Olympiad as well as the process of design, manufacture and installation of El sol rojo, Alexander Calder sculpture that was part of the Route of Friendship and until today is on the esplanade of the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
