Produced for the Museo Jumex, The Grotto is the artist’s first opera, that is activated on various occasions by a cellist who brings to life the instrument displayed as part of the installation. Based on a regional story, The Grotto follows Leopoldo, a boy who grew up in the village of La Garra, in Mexico, and who had a supernatural encounter that led him to be expelled from his community and migrate to the United States.
