Arch stream 2003
Arch Stream, 2003. La Colección Jumex, Mexico
The works in this series were made with expanded polyurethane foam, a liquid used as an industrial material. After a couple of seconds, it transforms into a foam three times the size to solidify and act as an insulator and filler. Orozco found in this material an organic component similar to lava, and highly manipulable but with a flexible and random variation. These sculptures were made by pouring the liquid into latex sheets that he had previously created and subjected to gravity and the stretching of the container and its different tensions.
